The BEST Christmas Present Ever!

Well, no email from her this week as we got to have our Christmas call!

We got to see and talk to her on Christmas evening for about 45 minutes. She looks and sounds great. The time went by so quickly and since then I've thought of so many things I wish I'd have said and asked.

Here are a few highlights:

  • Her finger does look bad but does seem to be healing. It is still twice the size of normal but the pain is getting better. She goes back next week to the Orthopedic doctor for a checkup.
  • She is not homesick! When Itu asked her if she was feeling homesick anymore, she said "Sorry, but no!". There were no tears - even at good-bye - just smiles.
Now if Itu and I can get it together, we'll be all set.
  • She loves the people of the Ventura California area. She is loving the work. They are teaching many people and have 3 baptisms scheduled for this weekend. Her Spanish is coming along great. She spoke with her uncle Scott in Spanish and he confirmed she really does know her stuff.
  • She told us what a typical day is like and she sure keeps busy!
  • She is being well taken care of.  Her Branch President had them over for Chrismas and feeds them every Sunday if they don't have another appointment.
  • We were able to meet and say hello to her companion as well! Her companion helps her with her finger (lucky for Lily she's heading to nursing school) and is a good friend. Hermana Edgel finishes her mission this coming Wednesday and we're grateful for how wonderful she's been to Lily. Lily taught her how to great Itu in Rotuman which was a fun surprise for him and one of the highlights of the day.
  • She looked happy, confident and beautiful! We couldn't be more proud of her.
